At the center of its stately street grid (notable in India) stands the opulent, colonnaded City Palace complex. With gardens, courtyards and museums, part of it is still a royal residence.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Udaipur<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Udaipur, formerly the capital of the Mewar Kingdom, is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559, it\u2019s set around a series of artificial lakes and is known for its lavish royal residences. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Kumbhalgarh<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Kumbhalgarh<\/strong>\u00a0(literally &#8220;<strong>Kumbhal fort<\/strong>&#8220;) is a\u00a0Mewar\u00a0fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills, in the\u00a0Rajsamand district\u00a0near\u00a0Udaipur\u00a0of\u00a0Rajasthan\u00a0state in western\u00a0India. It is a\u00a0World Heritage Site\u00a0included in\u00a0Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Built during the course of the 15th century by\u00a0Rana Kumbha. The fort is among the largest fort complexes in the world, and the second largest fort in India after\u00a0Chittor Fort.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Chittor Fort<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Chittor Fort<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Chittorgarh<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the largest forts in\u00a0India. It is a\u00a0UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of\u00a0Mewar\u00a0and is located in the present-day town of\u00a0Chittor. \u00a0sprawls over a hill 180\u00a0m (590.6\u00a0ft) in height spread over an area of 280\u00a0ha (691.9 acres) above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort precinct has several historical palaces, gates, temples and two prominent commemorative towers.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Ranakpur<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Ranakpur \u2013 a serene village in the Pali district of Rajasthan is a pious place for the Jains. Being an important place for pilgrimage, Ranakpur is home to some of the most beautiful and revered temples of western India. It is a remote valley in the Aravalli Ranges, situated 96 km from the famous city of Udaipur. The calm atmosphere of the place and the beautiful Jain temples which are made up of amber stones around the year 1438 attracts tourists to this place round the yea. The jeep safari through the Raunakpur valley can be one of the most memorable travel experiences in this place. The horseback travel in the Aravalli ranges and the visit to the Kumbalgarh wildlife sanctuary is an extra dose to the travel.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Haldighati<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Haldighati<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0mountain pass\u00a0between Khamnore and Bagicha village situated at\u00a0Aravalli Range\u00a0of\u00a0Rajasthan\u00a0in western\u00a0India\u00a0which connects\u00a0Rajsamand\u00a0and\u00a0Pali\u00a0districts. The pass is located at a distance of 40 kilometres from\u00a0Udaipur. The name &#8216;Haldighati&#8217; is believed to have originated from the\u00a0turmeric-coloured yellow soil of the area.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Shri Ekling Ji Temple<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><strong>Eklingji<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0Hindu\u00a0temple complex in\u00a0Udaipur District\u00a0of\u00a0Rajasthan\u00a0in western\u00a0India. Eklingji is believed to be the ruling deity of\u00a0Mewar\u00a0Princely State and the\u00a0<em>Maharana<\/em>\u00a0rules as his\u00a0<em>Dewan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Mount Abu<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Mount Abu is a hill station in western India\u2019s Rajasthan state, near the Gujarat border. Set on a high rocky plateau in the Aravalli Range and surrounded by forest, it offers a relatively cool climate and views over the arid plains below. In the center of town, Nakki Lake is a popular spot for boating. Close by are the centuries-old Dilwara Temples, ornately carved from white marble and of great spiritual importance.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Pushkar<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Pushkar is a town bordering the Thar Desert, in the northeastern Indian state of Rajasthan. It&#8217;s set on Pushkar Lake, a sacred Hindu site with 52 ghats (stone staircases) where pilgrims bathe. The town has hundreds of temples, including 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, dedicated to the god of creation, which has a distinctive red spire and walls inlaid with pilgrims\u2019 silver coins<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Ranthambore<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Ranthambore National Park is a vast wildlife reserve near the town of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, northern India. It is a former royal hunting ground and home to tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles. Its landmarks include the imposing 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, on a hilltop, and the Ganesh Mandir temple. Also in the park, Padam Talao Lake is known for its abundance of water lilies.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Jodhpur<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that\u2019s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city\u2019s iconic shade of blue.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><u>Jaiselmer<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Jaisalmer is a former medieval trading center and a princely state in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, in the heart of the Thar Desert. Known as the &#8220;Golden City,&#8221; it&#8217;s distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture. Dominating the skyline is Jaisalmer Fort, a sprawling hilltop citadel buttressed by 99 bastions. Behind its massive walls stand the ornate Maharaja&#8217;s Palace and intricately carved Jain temples.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Bikaner<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Bikaner is a city in the north Indian state of Rajasthan, east of the border with Pakistan. It&#8217;s surrounded by the Thar Desert. The city is known for the 16th-century Junagarh Fort, a huge complex of ornate buildings and halls. Within the fort, the Prachina Museum displays traditional textiles and royal portraits. Nearby, the Karni Mata Temple is home to many rats considered sacred by Hindu devotees.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><u>Mandawa<\/u><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Mandawa\u00a0is a town in\u00a0Jhunjhunu\u00a0district of\u00a0Rajasthan\u00a0in\u00a0India. It is part of\u00a0Shekhawati\u00a0region. Mandawa is situated 190\u00a0km off\u00a0Jaipur\u00a0in the north.\u00a0Mandawa is known for its fort and\u00a0havelis.
