Saint Petersburg.
The St. John’s Bridge connects the St. John’s Gate of the Peter and Paul Fortress with the Petrograd Side. Until 1887, Ioannovsky bridge was called Petrovsky. Interestingly, it was built on the site of the first bridge in St. Petersburg. The history of St. Petersburg began in 1703 with the laying of the Peter and Paul Fortress, and the first bridge in the new city was a floating wooden bridge connecting the fortress on Zayachy Island with the buildings on Gorodovoy (now Petrograd) Island. Then this bridge was called Petrovsky.
