In 1753, the building was acquired by the British consul. The prayer hall, decorated in the &#171;Italian style&#187;, was opened in March 1754, and in 1814-1815 the building was rebuilt according to the design of the architect J. Quarenghi in the Empire style.<\/p>\n<p>The main facade is marked by a portico on six columns, crowned with a triangular pediment with sculptures of Vera, Hope and Love. The two-room prayer hall is decorated with columns and pilasters of the Corinthian order. In 1860, the hall was re-finished by the architect A.K. Pele, and in 1877-1878, the architect F.K. Boltenhagen changed the decoration of the facades. At the end of the 19th century, the interior was decorated with stained-glass windows.<\/p>\n<p>In 1919, the church was closed, and its archives exported to London.
