V.V. MUSEUM NABOKOV

Location : V.V. MUSEUM NABOKOV

Saint Petersburg.

The museum was opened on the centenary of the writer’s birthday, when there was almost no item left in the house from the time of the Nabokovs. However, over the years, employees have managed to assemble a significant memorial collection and a large scientific library, which is always open to visitors.

Now the museum occupies the first floor of the house, where the premises of the dining room, living room and library are preserved. The former “committee” room, in which the historical interior has not been preserved, is used as an exhibition hall.

In addition to academic work, the Nabokov Museum of St. Petersburg State University conducts scientific programs — the annual April Nabokov readings, a summer school for students and graduate students, international Nabokov conferences, as well as public lectures, round tables and literary readings. Since 2008, when the museum became part of the Faculty of Philology and Arts of St. Petersburg State University, it was possible to significantly increase the collection and begin the restoration of the premises of the house.
