The palace building was built in the style of late constructivism in 1938 according to the design of Eugene Levinson and Vladimir Munts. Initially, the project involved the construction of a 50-meter tower, but it remained incomplete.
Performances and musicals with the participation of theater and cinema stars, concerts of famous groups and young performers, ballets and children’s performances are constantly held in the auditorium of the Palace of Culture. The poster of the Leningrad City Council includes performances by pop singers, Russian and foreign rock stars: Svetlana Surganova, Boris Borisovich Grebenshchikov, Garik Sukachev, as well as such rock groups as “Pilot”, “Auction”, “Splin”, “Sunday”, Picnic, Bi-2, Kindom Come, Vermicelli Orchestra, Keith Emirson, Billy`s Band, Markscheider Kunst and many others.
Exhibitions and presentations are constantly working in the premises of the Leningrad City Palace of Culture, various festivals are held.
