BOLSHEOKHTINSKY BRIDGE

The construction of this bridge across the Neva was begun in 1909 and completed at the end of 1911. Before the revolution, the bridge was called the “Bridge of Emperor Peter the Great.” After the events of 1917, the bridge was given the usual name for us – Bolsheokhtinsky.

The bridge is three-span, metal, the central span is adjustable. In towers about 23 m high, made in the form of lighthouses, there are mechanisms that control the draw of the bridge.
